Using the white background allows for your item to stand out.

From sourcing products, managing inventory, and handling customer inquiries to packing and shipping orders, the tasks can quickly become overwhelming, especially if you’re operating solo. For example, Poshmark is considered to be a very social platform. So essentially you need to be engaged in order to make sales. One way to do this is through sharing your listings. I have know sellers to recruit family members to share their listings for them. I work solo most of the time, but do have my teen son create drafts of my listings for me so I can focus on sourcing and photographs.

3. Uncertain Income: While online reselling can be lucrative, income can be unpredictable, especially in the beginning. Market fluctuations, seasonal trends, and other variables can affect sales. It’s essential to have financial stability and be prepared for potential fluctuations in your income. One thing to remember, you will need to hold onto a good amount of your income when starting out so you can expand and grow your business.

Most online platforms will collect sales tax on your behalf and remit it to the proper state. Initially starting with the 2023 tax year, platforms like Etsy, Poshmark, Mercari, and eBay were going to be required to submit a 1099-K for all sellers who sell over $600 per year.
